Happy 60th Grandpa!!
A couple of weeks ago, we had a big surprise party for Stan's dad. He turned the big 60. A lot of work and coodinating went into this special event. My sis-in-law, Rebecca, made a wonderful video. Stan's sister (Lorel) and her husband (Todd) hosted this event at their home. They hired a photographer to take pictures and had a cookout for us. We were so blessed to have all of the Stan's siblings there, and most of their families. Here is Richard as he came down the stairs to the basement where we surprised him.

What a cool event. And that cake looks awesome. What kind was it?
I know the focus of this blog was supposed to be Grandpa, but all I could focus on was the cake. I'm drooling! You'll have to share your secret recipes. Better yet, let's form a freezer exchange dessert group!
It was a chocolate cake , with chocolate fillins, topped with chocolate ganache and chocolate shavings. Then decorated with chocolate covered strawberries. Do you see a theme?
