These animals' faces are quite appropriate for my story...... After reading my sister, Karen's, blog post about taking her kids to go see "Return to Africa", it made me want to take my kids. Mind you my kids are 1 and (recently turned)3. I did not know how they would do sitting through a movie in an actual theatre. They both like TV so I thought it would go well. So, I decided to be spontaneous and adventurous. I picked Jake up from school at 1 and took them to the 1:50 showing. We got to the theatre and they were mesmerized. They loved climbing all over the chairs, going up and down the stairs, and walking the aisles. I called Stan beforehand and he said I was nuts. I also called my sister, Karen, and told her what I was doing and that she was the one who inspired me to do it. She also informed me that I was nuts. Can I not heed warning signs or take advice? At the movie, Jake was a busy body, but would sit and watch parts of the movie (mind you he was in the middle of the aisle). Kate, on the other hand, was all over the place. Luckily, there were only a handful of people at the show. I was having to stand up and grab Kate every 5 minutes or so. Now I see why Hollywood does not make movies aimed at 1 year olds. I always wondered why Baby Einstein never made it to the big screen. Now I know. I did not think that we were going to last through the entire movie, but by sheer determination, we made it to the end. The movie is very cute and I highly recommend taking your kids...as long as they are older than mine. I enjoyed the outing with my kids even though it was a little crazy. We still all had fun. I will just wait a while before I repeat this activity with them. I think my kids were more savage than the animals in the movie. One nice thing. I was paying for our tickets. I told the lady one adult, a 3 year old, and a 1 year old. She said "He looks 2 to me." and only charged me for myself. So at least both of my monkeys were free.

You are nuts. But I'm glad that you are adventurous with the kids. We should do Toddler Thursday at the High before my pass expires (although that one I will renew). Jake would enjoy that and Kate would do well.
You Brave Girl - way to go!
You are much braver than I have ever been! And you even made it to the end! That is a big accomplishment!
Shelyse
you were nuts. (are? :)) but i admire your adventurous spirit!
Yes, you had a moment of lapsed judgement, but at least no one threw up :c). Harrison's first movie was The Lion King and he proceeded to fill my lap half way through the movie--YEAH!!!
