Jake had a half day of school last week, but today was Jake and Kate's first full day of school. I have seen many cute blog posts about school starting for other kids. In contrast, I will show a little video of our morning getting ready for school. (She is quite upset about her shoes, and then gets distracted by some cartoon on the TV.)
When Kate got to school she walked right in and did not look back. She was so excited to play with all the toys and her teachers said that she did great. So, Kate's biggest issue isn't separation anxiety, it's wanting to wear other shoes. She has to wear closed toed shoes to school, but she loves her sandals with the big flower on them.
By the way, Jake did great. He is loving school this year, and he loves having his friend Ryan in his class. He has been so excited to go, and it has been his biggest motivation in getting on the ball with potty training.

This is hilarious. Truth be told, it is probably what happened in most households, they just didn't write about that part!
Starting school is such a big deal, and I'm glad that both of your kiddos are enjoying it! Jenna starts Kindergarten next month, and Henry will be in preschool for the first time. He's still working on tackling being 100% potty trained 100% of the time. Let's hope that doesn't become an issue (ie: keeps them from being able to attend) for Henry or Jake!
