My Stamp of Approval

I have a confession about an addiction of mine. I am in love with ginger! I have been for a long time now, but these days it is out of control and I just can't get enough. I buy fresh ginger, jarred ginger, use it in marinades, on sushi, pretty much anywhere I can. One of my favorite ways to have ginger is in the salad dressing at Japanese steakhouses. I could literally drink the stuff! I have been on a recent crusade to find something that resembles this salad dressing and I have finally found it! They were 'buy one, get one' a couple of weeks ago at Publix, so I got 2. I took one to a little dinner party with a salad and the bottle came home practically empty. My friends were raving about it. So today I got more since my supply is now out. Ok, this is a lot of talk just for a salad dressing, but I am telling you, this stuff is goooooood! And not nearly as fattening as most salad dressings. I found it in the produce section at Publix with the refrigerated salad dressings. Oh, and the brand is Makoto. Here's the picture.

Also, a recent find (I found it today) is the 'Flat Out' artisan flat bread. I have used this stuff before, but now they have a foldable type that is just perfect. It is BOGO right now at Publix, and it also has a coupon on the bag for $.55 off. I used it for my lunch today and made a ham sandwich. I loved it. They even make it all healthy and stuff with fiber, protein, and flax type stuff. I like it b/c it is not nearly as big as their other roll-up type bread and is the perfect size. The down side is that it expires in a shorter amount of time than regular bread. I stuck mine in the fridge, but am going to try to use it up pretty quickly. Here's a pic of the stuff. It says you can grill it and I would imagine that this stuff would be great in making paninis.

And my yummy sammy! Just because. See how nicely it folds.

So, these days I am trying to eat healthier and I have not been baking; thus the lack of baking posts that are usually plastering the walls of this blog. I think people are in withdrawals around here. Lorrin even busted out some gross boxed cookie mix the other day from my pantry b/c of the lack of treats. Maybe I can find a healthy cookie recipe, but I am currently trying to locate some good butter and sugar substitutes.
