What a day!

Do you ever have one of those days that takes you where you never thought you would be at the end of the day? Today was one of those for me.

Let me begin by giving a little history. Several weeks ago I gave Jake a haircut using my Flowbee (my vacuum hair-cutting gadget). After the haircut, I noticed these gouges in my vinyl flooring.

I had no idea how long they had been there and could not for the life of me figure out what had made them. I showed them to Stan and Lorrin, and neither of them knew what could have done this. These gouges were small enough that I decided to live with the blemishes.

Today, I busted out the Flowbee once more for another round of haircuts. I did Jake's hair and then decided to do Stan's as well. I was trying to be thorough and was taking my time. When I was done I was putting everything away and when I moved the vacuum this is what we saw underneath.


The brush on our vacuum does not stop when the attachments are being used. It had been in one place for so long and getting so hot that it had worn all through the vinyl. I wanted to die! I was trying to be the thrifty good mom by giving home haircuts and now I have this mess that is far from subtle. This HAS to be dealt with. So tonight's date consisted of dinner and then a trip to Home Depot. We are still trying to decide exactly what we are going to do, but I think it is going in the direction of being a pretty big project. I will give updates as we go. This is going to be the most expensive haircut ever........
