The other day on TV Kate saw how to make a bird feeder out of a pine cone, peanut butter, and bird seed. She has been asking to make one ever since. Today, when we went to Kroger, they had a large display of all sorts of bird seed and bird feeders. They even had these handy little pine cones on sticks, since we don't have any good place to hang pine cones in our treeless yard. So I grabbed our supplies and when we got home, Kate was bounding out of the van ready to make her feeder. Kate ready with her supplies. Rolling her pine cone in bird seed. Our finished product! Stuck it in the wet ground outside.
The best part of this little project is Kate's song calling the birds to come eat from her pine cone. She is so funny with the songs she comes up with. She sings non-stop in the van. She makes me laugh all the time. This song's lyrics (in case you can't understand) are, "tweet tweet" and "eat the pine cone".

oh my gosh- she is darling! she has several different bird sounds in that song - very impressive! :)
Awww. I would eat the pine cone if I were a little birdie down in PTC ;). We did that in Scouts last year. Kate could be working on a badge!
I love her song!
