Things That Make Me Happy

A little while back I shared a list of things that annoy me....not the most positive post. So, to keep things on a more cheerful note, here is a list of things that make me happy.

1. Waking up in the morning, sifting through my foggy mind to determine what day it is and realizing that it is Saturday.

2. An organized, clean home.

3. Every morning when my kids climb into bed with me for our family morning scriptures and they cuddle up to me and are half awake. They always prefer to cuddle with me than Stan. (I could do without their morning breath.)

4. Finding a great deal. I would say yard-saling here, but it is more specific than that. I can have a crappy yard-saling day that is a complete waste of time and gas. I love the search for the items I need and being able to get them at a great price. (I think I will be soon be writing a post completely on the reasons I yard sale.)

5. Throwing things away. I hate clutter...don't know if I mentioned that in the "things that annoy me" post. I love purging my house of unneeded items. Then on occasion, I hate that I realized that I chucked something I now need. It's still better to purge.

6. The things my kids say incorrectly like 'pattecillar' (caterpillar) and pasketti (spaghetti). I love incorporating new vocabulary into our family life that kids come up with. In contrast, I hate when parents speak baby talk and say things incorrectly on purpose to their children. Only kid spawned incorrect vocabulary is acceptable. However, I still say caterpillar and spaghetti.

7. The smell of fresh cut grass.

8. Huge rain storms. This is the very purpose I chose to build a house that has a big wrap around porch. I always go out there when it rains really hard. I love it. I can be having a bad day, but if it suddenly storms, it makes me so happy.

9. Having kids old enough that I can send out in the yard to play without having to watch them constantly. Sure Brooke comes back in with a mouthful of dirt from my garden, but I was able to have some peace and quiet...and maybe even get some dishes done.

10. I love having kids....not babies, kids. Kids are so much more fun.

11. Finally eating something that I have been craving and having it taste just how I imagined.

12. Going on dates. (Sorry Stan, spending time with you, prob should be much higher on this list. I am just listing things as the come, and I am not reorganizing.)

13. One on one time with one of my kids.

14. A good philly cheese-steak.

15. Holding my new born baby for the first time.

16. A good and inspiring church lesson or talk that makes me realize a way in which I can change and be better.

17. Cooking for people. And not having to clean it.

18. A good workout.

19. Sleeping children.

20. A really good book. (Most recently is 'Unbroken'. Read it! Seriously.)

21. Sewing. I want to be better at this. I love making dresses for my girls and seeing them wear them.

22. My kids noses. They have such cute little profiles, and there is just something about their little noses that I find myself staring at sometimes.

what a great post! I loved reading this and it's so great to have such a personal post. I need to get around to that rather than just posting pictures so much.
