My Biggest Fan

She may be a little thing, but this girl knows what she wants, and at 9 months old (like most babies this age) it is her mommy. Kate has mastered the art of scooting. The scooting is often paired with desperate cries, which would make you think she is being tortured, any time I leave the room. She also hates her crib. I lay her down in her crib, she looks around, sees where she is and starts screaming. I pick her up, lay her in my bed, she looks around and lays her head down and drifts off to sleep. She sleeps the entire night nestled at my side, making it nearly impossible to get any type of decent sleep. I have recently placed a guard rail on my side of the bed so that I don't have to fret about her falling out of bed in the middle of the night, so now I feel like I am sleeping in a hospital bed every night. Good thing she is so dang cute.

I hosted playgroup today, meaning I had 9 kids for 2 hours. Shelly, here, is the cutest little girl in the whole world. She loves to hold and look at Kate. Today, she informed me that she only likes things that are beautiful and that my baby is beautiful. She watched over my shoulder as I rocked Kate to sleep; the whole time she was singing "twinkle, twinkle, little star" to Kate. Once Kate was asleep, she let me know that now I could lay her down, but not to let any of the other kids wake her up. Man, just look at those cheeks and those big brown eyes... so cute. Adam, also likes to hold Kate, but maybe he is not as big of a fan of her as Shelly, since he is trying to flick her in this picture. (Or at least that is what it looks like to me) I didn't notice this until I put these pictures on my computer; I guess I was too busy trying to get a decent shot of the three of them, which obviously didn't happen. Shrug.

Kate's sleeping habits sound like Noah's right now. Is there a bed sleeping virus going around? If so how can you get rid of it. It's really driving me crazy.

What cute kids. Isn't it nice to have a little helper. I have one of those too. Maybe it's a big girl thing. They just want to be the Momma.

Our Kate was the same way for the first year of her life. She did not like her crib at all. She would always fall right to sleep in our bed, right smack dab on us. She always had to have some part of her body touching us to know that we were still there. After she turned 1 she found her crib and loves it. However, on ocassion she is found sleeping in our bed. What fun!

Aw cute! What's up with getting a guard rail? My kid recently plummeted to the ground at 3 a.m. the other night in my bed. Nothing like waking up to that loud thud followed by an even louder cry. C'mon, where's your sense of adventure?

Yes, call us when you get back. I'm all over that 80's version. We'll be anxiously awaiting your return. Have fun!
